Festivities in Honour of Nuestra Señora de la Fuensanta
Description
Two pilgrimages, with a solemn Eucharist and procession at 11 in the morning, are held in honour of Nuestra Sra. de la Fuensanta Coronada at her Sanctuary.
- On 8 September, the feast of the Birth of the Virgin, together with a preceding triduum, as the main festival of the town that guards her image, Villanueva del Arzobispo.
- From the 7th to the 11th of this month are the town's main festival days. On the mornings of the 7th and 8th, a traditional pilgrimage and procession are held around the Sanctuary. From the evening of the 8th onwards, the festival programme moves to Avenida de La Paz and the San Blas Municipal Park, with bullfighting shows, concerts, a fair, and a great many activities enlivening these days, culminating on the 11th with a fireworks display.
