Description

This is one of the olive varieties originating from Italy, widespread in the central region of the country and present in numerous countries. Its productivity is high and consistent, and it is valued for its adaptability. It enters production early. It is susceptible to peacock spot, olive knot and the olive fruit fly, sensitive to cold, and resistant to Verticillium wilt, which has led to it being planted in many areas prone to the disease, where Picual cannot thrive. The tree has medium vigour with a weeping habit. Its leaves are elliptical-lanceolate and medium-sized. The fruit is slightly asymmetrical and of medium weight. Its oils stand out for their green almond fruitiness; the palate entry is sweet and smooth, with a characteristic bitterness reminiscent of bitter almond. Its stability is medium.
