Description
The Hermitage of San Roque is from the 16th century, of Baroque style, of ecclesiastical property. The façade has a vanity with a half-point arc, on the top it has a circular vanity as a roseton, it covers two waters. In the Hermitage there is a Sacred Heart, a replica of a crucified christ of Velázquez, a picture donated by a family of Lopera, another picture of the Aimes of the Virgin of Carmen and an image of the Virgin of Beautiful Love.
During the civil war all the images of the hermitage were burned except for the image of the Virgin of Beautiful Love who only burned from waist down, an arm and something of the face. This image was rescued by Adolfo Calvo Peralta, City Council councillor and taken home. His heirs decided that the image would return to its place of origin, Lopera. The image was still burned so it had to be restored.
