San Antón
Description
The celebration of San Antón — on 17 January — a day on which bonfires are lit, around which roasted potatoes seasoned with salt and pepper are enjoyed, and the so-called caridades de San Antón are handed out, consisting of large bread rings distributed at the parish church of San Bartolomé. On this day, since ancient times, it has been customary to walk each household's working animals around the church, as a gesture of thanksgiving to the saint for the protection he provided them with each year.
