Pilgrimage of the Virgen Milagrosa

Since 1928, the residents of Onsares, a hamlet of Villarrodrigo, have held the pilgrimage of the Virgen Milagrosa on the last Sunday of May, a date suggested to the civil and religious authorities by the village's teacher, Dolores Moya Atienza, so that the village's children could make their first communion during it. Until 1953, when the current hermitage was completed, this image was venerated as the Virgen de Bayonas, a nearby, now-vanished settlement. The people of Onsares also hold further celebrations in honour of the Virgen Milagrosa in November.
