3rd Martos Old Town Festival

Description

The festival opens on Friday evening, the 11th, with a night-time DJ set that will wrap the old town in a festive atmosphere, followed by a concert by Dr. Bacterio, filling the Martos night with rhythm. Children will take centre stage thanks to a children's play area, educational activities and a family show encouraging families to experience the festival together. Traditional wooden games, known as "unplugged games", will bring back the essence of shared play right out in the street.

Saturday the 12th brings new activities for all ages. The Curolla company will perform its circus show, one of the most eagerly awaited events for its visual, participatory style. The festive atmosphere continues with the Concierto Vermú, perfect for enjoying the old town in broad daylight, while the Fleamarket craft market fills the streets with local creativity. The children's play area returns, and a DJ session provides continuous music throughout the day.

Across both days, the festival will include ongoing activities that reinforce its open, accessible spirit: a free tourist bus will provide access to the old town, guided tours will be available to discover its rich heritage, and the Torre del Homenaje (keep) will remain open for those wishing to admire Martos from above. The traditional tavern will offer local produce, while the cultural setting and tourist signage will turn the visit into a complete experience.

The 3rd Martos Old Town Festival is far more than a cultural programme: it's an invitation to reconnect with the city, to experience its heritage through community, and to celebrate the strength of a historic old town that remains the heart and memory of Martos.
