Description
During the first two years of his stay in Baeza, Antonio Machado lived alone, still without his mother, Mrs. Ana Ruiz, in the now-defunct Hotel Comercio, the only inn in the entire city, located on San Pablo street. The hotel is today converted into housing and only its façade remains. Until his disappearance, the room was preserved as the poet occupied it, number 15 on the first floor, whose balcony faced the front of the Palacio de los Salcedo and allowed a view of the Mágina mountains to the west.
