On 9 May, Castellar will once again become a great open-air creative stage with the 26th “Villa de Castellar” International Quick Painting Competition, an event that, after more than twenty-five years of history, has established itself as one of the most prestigious painting gatherings in Andalusia.

From early morning, artists from various parts of the country — and from abroad too — will set up their easels in the town's streets, squares and iconic spots. Castellar, with its traditional architecture, its urban layout and its identity deeply tied to the landscape, transforms during this day into a living space where creation happens in full view of everyone. Residents and visitors can wander through the town while watching how each canvas captures a different light, an unexpected perspective, or a detail that, in the artist's hands, becomes pure emotion.
