Description

In May, Pegalajar prepares to welcome the 130 best paragliding pilots on the planet. For almost two weeks, from 11 to 22 May, the skies over the Siete Pilillas site will become a vibrant stage full of colour, skill and excitement. This is the Paragliding World Cup Superfinal, the most important event on the international circuit, landing in Spain for the first time and choosing Jaén as its temporary home.

Each day, pilots will take off from Siete Pilillas to tackle routes that can exceed 150 kilometres, guided solely by thermal currents and winds. Their unpredictable and fascinating flight paths may take them over Granada, Córdoba, Albacete or even El Yelmo.

But the Superfinal isn't experienced only in the air. Pegalajar has prepared a programme that turns the competition into a true celebration of the local area: hot-air balloon rides, a display by the Air Force parachute display team, the presence of the Civil Guard's rescue helicopter, gastronomic events with Michelin-starred Jaén chefs Juan José Mesa and Javier Jurado, and cultural activities such as flamenco gatherings. Together, all of this creates an atmosphere that blends sport, identity and hospitality.
