On Cerro de la Horca, in Peal de Becerro, the Princely Tombs of Toya and Hornos constitute one of the most fascinating archaeological sites of Iberian culture in Jaén. These are not just burial sites: they are places of memory and power, where the remains of leaders and families who shaped the history of the Iberian city of Tugia more than 2,000 years ago were laid to rest.

Entering the Toya burial chamber is to peek into the inner world of a civilization thatbelieved deeplyin the continuity of life beyond death. Through its architectural arrangement, its niches and its silence tell stories of power, ritual and material culture. Each stone block, each ceramic element, or each object placed alongside the dead tells us about how they understood the cycle of life and how they honored those who had been pillars of the community.

At the Interpretation Center of the Princely Tombs of Toya and Hornos, you will explore the Hornos hypogeum,thanks to a sectioned representation of the tumulus in which it is located, and discover several of the objects that formed part of the funerary offerings found in Toya. All of this as part of an experience full of symbolism.
