Cortijo de Ramón maintains a serious and responsible commitment so that your vacation does not have any negative impact on the environment and contributes to preserving the surroundings and the tranquility of the place.
The firewood to heat the common rooms of the house comes from the pruning of its olive trees. As for the heating of the house as well as the hot water, it has a biomass boiler made of olive stones, an excellent local fuel.
They recycle all containers, glass and organic waste separately. The water used comes from their own spring but they promote the reuse of towels among guests to reduce excessive consumption of water and detergents.
The pool is salt water so as not to use chlorine and to offer a more pleasant and healthy bath for the skin.
The parking lot is not paved over trees to provide shade and away from the house to reduce vehicle noise. The whole hotel is a smoke-free space and for smokers there are cigarette butts all over the property. The exterior lighting is LED and directed to the ground to reduce light pollution. The hotel corridors have automatic lighting and all the bulbs are LED.
Comfortable outdoor spaces are provided to promote activities such as reading or simply resting. To disconnect there is no TV. This way they promote gatherings among the guests. They do not have any caged wild animals except for some chickens that feed on the restaurant's waste to stock up on fresh eggs of exceptional quality.
The dishes prepared at Cortijo de Ramón are a defence of the heritage and a passion for taste and tradition. Its gastronomy is based on the local cuisine and the AOVE. They carry out visits to the olive grove and the oil mill for groups, as well as tastings and activities to introduce the world of the AOVE.
The Sierra is an inexhaustible source of inspiration for those who want to move around on foot or by bike. More than 750 km of marked trails with 3 GR, among which the 247 that runs through the Sierra profunda. The Tranco reservoir, 10 minutes away by car from the House, is one of the largest in Spain and in summer several active tourism companies offer the practice of water sports.
