How to get

The Burguillos recreational area is located 5 kilometers north of the town of Bailén, within what is known as Dehesa de Burguillos, a municipally owned grassed public forest.

Mount Burguillos is one of the most significant elevations in the border area between Sierra Morena and the countryside.

The Burguillos recreational area is equipped with tables, benches and barbecues, as well as fountains, an artificial lagoon, a parking area, a bar-restaurant and a Nature Classroom.

The area is frequented by people who want to share a country meal with their friends or family, take a walk in the middle of nature or simply contemplate the rich biodiversity that Burguillos has.

The surroundings of the Dehesa de Burguillos, also known as de la Villa, is home to a well-cared Mediterranean forest of holm oaks, cork oaks and gall oaks, a bucolic livestock area and a beautiful enclosure through which the Rumblar river passes after leaving the dam. In addition, the land is dotted with spectacular rounded granite blocks called "bolos" and cavalry stones, as well as berrocales characteristic of this area of ??Sierra Morena.

From the recreational area you can take numerous hiking trails, all signposted and of medium-low difficulty, being able to intertwine with each other, highlighting one that goes into the low forest pasture to the Rumblar river and another that runs through the so-called Cerro de las Trenches, where trenches used in the Civil War are located.
