This municipality is part of:

A small town in the heart of the district of La Loma y Las Villas, bordering the district of Úbeda with which it maintains close ties.
The majority of the land is used for olive farming, although there are also small areas dedicated to grapes, which produce very good wine. The most iconic feature of the town of Torreperogil are the so-called Torres Oscuras (Dark Towers), dating from the 13th century. They were formerly part of the old castle which the village surrounded. One tower is square, and the other, known as the Torre Ochavada, has an octagonal footprint. They are currently used as a space to host cultural events for most of the year.
Another interesting building is the Iglesia de Santa María la Mayor (Church of Saint Mary Major), built in a gothic style and much reformed during the 16th century. It is considered to be one of the first classical words carried out in Spain and is divided into three naves with two imposing doorways.
