Noalejo is a township in the far southwest of the district of Sierra Mágina, on the border with the province of Granada.
The surrounding countryside stands out for its pasturelands and hills of holm oaks, some of which are very old. The local economy revolves around olives and derived produce. The town is also very well-known for its cold cuts, made from locally reared pigs.
The architectural jewel of Noalejo is the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Asunción (Church of Our Lady of the Assumption), built between 1570 and 1575, with a layout with a single nave inspired by the Mudéjar tradition.
