Villanueva del Arzobispo

Villanueva del Arzobispo is a town in the far east of the district of Las Villas. Part of its municipal area is included in the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park, where there are a great many important landscapes and environmental sites. The township sits at the meeting point of four districts: Condado and its red land, La Loma and its olive fields, Segura, with its extraordinarily beautiful park, the largest in Jaén, and Las Villas. Las Villas is made up of four townships, of which Villanueva is one of them. The township also includes the villages of Gútar and Barranco de Montesina. A significant part of the area received a healthy water supply from the Guadalquivir and Guadalimar rivers, which makes for fertile lands suitable for farming and vast fields of olive trees.
