This municipality is part of:

A small town in the district of Sierra Mágina, just on the slopes of the Cerro de la Vieja. The municipal area stretches along the valley of the Torres river, limited by the peaks of the Sierra Mágina (Almadén, Cárceles, Morrón and Aznaitín). If anything makes Torres stand out from other towns, it’s the exceptional landscape, particularly in spring, with the blossoming of the cherry trees that cover the river valley.

The altitude and abundance of water make for very pleasant summer temperatures but cold winters. A significant part of the township is included in the Sierra Mágina Natural Park, containing large areas of woodland vegetation dominated by pines and indigenous holm oaks. There are other natural places that visitors simply mustn’t miss, such as the recreation area at Fuenmayor.

Highlights of the town’s historic and artistic heritage include the Palace of Don Diego de los Cobos, completed in 1565, and the Iglesia de Santo Domingo de Guzmán (Church of Saint Dominic of Gúzman).
