Peal de Becerro is the natural gateway to the Sierra de Cazorla and the steep winding countryside of Quesada. With water supplied by the nearby Guadalquivir and Guadiana Menor rivers, the site was home to flourishing Iberian settlements in antiquity. The Toya burial chamber is one of their most fascinating legacies. It’s one of the most important and unique Iberian funereal monuments in the country and an obligatory stop on the “Viaje al Tiempo de los Íberos” (Journey to the Time of the Iberians). Work is currently underway to build a monographic interpretation centre about the monument.

Other sites of interest include the Torre del Reloj (Clock Tower) and the Torre Mocha, which testify to the existence of an important medieval castle, or the double-arched Roman aqueduct at Hornos de Peal.
