The surrounding landscape is a rich combination of olive and almond trees with large areas of pine forests, holm oaks, scrubland, cytisus, rosemary and thyme - a landscape of genuine contrasts and low rainfall.

Amongst the area’s highlights is a thousand-year-old holm oak, which is an officially declared “Asset of Natural Interest”, and the bridge over the Arroyo Salado river, which is 109 m tall and 300m long.

The economy of Cabra de Santo Cristo is firmly based on olive oil production and there are currently three working mills. Almond production is also very important for the town.

Cabra has a rich historical past, with Neolithic caves, Roman artefacts and even the discovery of a small treasure of Visigoth coins.

Amongst the town’s most important monuments are the parochial church and the Sanctuary of Santo Cristo de Burgos, a pilgrimage site for people from many different towns. Built during the 16th and 17th centuries, it is an example of the Andalusian Baroque.
