Villarrodrigo

Villarrodrigo is a village in the district of Sierra de Segura in the far northeast of the province of Jaén, on the border with the province of Albacete. The village of Onsares also belongs to the municipality. Despite being in the district of Sierra de Segura, it doesn’t form part of the Sierras de Cazorla, Segura y Las Villas Natural Park.</p>

Located in the foothills of the Sierra de Segura, the countryside, covered with olive trees, cereal fields, forest and grazing land won’t fail to astound you.

The local economy is almost entirely based on agriculture, and more than half of the municipal area is dedicated to olive farming, which are mainly rain-fed. It is also an important area for bull breeding and some of these breeders sell their bulls to important bullrings, like the bulls of Samuel Flores.

The town’s cultural assets include the Iglesia Parroquial de San Bartolomé (Parochial Church of Saint Bartholomew and the Torreón Medieval (Medieval Tower).
