The town of Chilluévar is known for its steep, narrow streets. Below the town, stretches the majestic countryside of smooth hills and olive groves that populate the depression of the Guadalquivir river. Its winding alleyways open up onto footpaths that uncover the area’s special countryside.

The area is mainly dedicated to olive farming, occupying the sloping lands from the north and east towards the Vega and Cañamares rivers in the south and southeast. On the other side of the municipal area, the proximity of the farmland to the sierra makes it the perfect habitat for small game and small insect-eating birds.

The township is part of the Sierra de Cazorla and is included in the Sierra de Cazorla, Segura y las Villas Natural Park. It’s made up of four main settlements: Los Romos, Las Almansas, Chilluévar la Vieja and Noguero.

Highlights of the town’s historical heritage include the Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de la Paz (Church of Our Lady of the Peace), the Torre Del Duende tower and an old olive oil mill.
