Jaén awaits you full of light and color throughout the year offering you a wide range of festivals, theatrical competitions, pilgrimages and musical encounters.
Popular festivals and events evoke the cultural richness of this province. The towns and cities of Jaén pay homage to their
patrons throughout the year, with celebrations as unique as the Moors and Christians festivities, in the towns of Sierra Mágina, or the “Toro Ensogao” festivities in Beas de Segura. In Andújar the Pilgrimage of the Virgen de la Cabeza is celebrated, the oldest in Spain, which brings together thousands of pilgrims in the Cerro del Cabezo. Holy Week takes on a special role in cities such as Jaén, Úbeda or Baeza, declared of national tourist interest, and which attract residents and foreigners every year, but Jaén has also been chosen as the setting for unique events. You cannot miss Etnosur, the most important open and free ethnic festival in Spain, the Cazorla Blues Festival, the Air Festival that is celebrated in the skies of the Sierra de Segura, the Animation Program of the Route of the Castles and the Battles or the Linares International Chess Tournament, considered the highest level of those held in the world.
