Mingo

23001, Jaén How to get

The site is of great scenic quality. It is a classic wall par excellence on which the sports sector known as the Inkilino has recently been equipped. It has a long approach, good possibilities and at the moment few routes. In this area there are alternate routes for sport climbing and classic climbing. Some routes require explosive climbing, especially in the extra-legs. The anchors we find are reliable. The average height is 15 metres. The maximum height is 25 metres.

How to get there - 7 km from Jaén city Access is somewhat complicated. Take the road that leads to Puente de la Sierra; after passing a small housing estate of villas, 50 metres from the kilometre marker, take the asphalted road on the right. Carry on without turning off until you reach a point where the road forks in two, and then take the track on the right to reach a chain which prevents you from passing through. From here continue to an old farmhouse where the path ends. Taking the walls of the Mingo (another area) in front of us, continue to the right along a slightly marked path that leads to the Canjorro. Just at the entrance to this popular school, go down first through the olive grove and then through a watercourse, until you reach, about 10 minutes later, following a slightly marked path, the river, just in front of one of the most spectacular walls. We cross the river and take a gentle uphill path on the left that leads to the Inkilino sector in five minutes. To reach other sectors, continue along this path until you reach a wire fence, and then turn right towards the larger sectors.
