Path of the Mimbre Mine

, Linares

Circular path that starts at the Linarejos Hermitage and continues along the old Linares-Los Salidos railroad track that, among olive trees, leads to the San Luis Foundry. After passing the Foundry, you leave the track and on the right you have to take a badly damaged lane that has as a reference, 50m away, a house in ruins with three eucalyptus trees. After a curve to the left the lane is occupied by an olive grove, but it does not prevent the passage; then you must continue to the right until you reach the green road that joins the Fundición La Cruz with Pozo 4 and Linares.

This place is known as Cristo del Valle. 20 meters to the left, on the other side of the road, there is an old ruined hut with rocks piled up next to it, blocking and hiding an old road that goes down to the El Calvario Well, surrounded by vegetation and where its goat and chimney support is impressive. We must continue by a narrow way that takes until the Mine of the Wicker, where we will have special care not to leave the way by the diverse sinking of the land that can be appreciated.

We follow the route without leaving the main track, heading south, until we reach a junction near two large houses in ruins, where we leave the track .

This mine is one of the oldest in the district and had an important production already in the 17th century. Further on, it connects with the Cuesta del Mimbre and the La Garza path, PR-A 262. We will have to go through this common section until a sharp bend before the end of the slope, where the PR-A 262 separates to the right going to the Lavadero de Mineral Arrayanes. We follow the route without abandoning the main track, heading south, until we reach a junction near two large houses in ruins, where we leave the track to continue ahead on the path that leads to Pozo San Vicente, the deepest in the district, where the double masonry goat stands out. Later, we cross the Greenway, a point very close to the San Luis Foundry. Without changing course we continue along a wide track on the other side of the road, which we will not leave at any time until we return to the Hermitage of Linarejos.
