The Monte la Sierra Periurban Park is conformed by the mountain of the same denomination, of 2,720 hectares and owned by the City Council of Jaén, in consortium with the Ministry of the Environment of the Junta de Andalucía, which is located in the municipality of Jaén.

The mountain is crossed by two converging valleys: the Quibrajano River (where the Protected Species Recovery Center is located) and the Cañada de las Hazadillas, with a recreational facility equipped with stoves, tables, benches, recreational furniture, fountains. , kiosk, etc., in addition to other facilities.

This natural space is used as a place of leisure and recreation by the population of Jaén, given its proximity to the city.
