The origins of the city go back to prehistory. It was the Iberian city of Tucci, and in Roman times the Colonia Augusta Gemella. With the Visigoths it was the episcopal seat, the Muslims gave it the name of Martos, being at this time an important military fortress. After the Christian conquest it became the capital of the Order of Calatrava in the Alto Guadalquivir. Its special physical configuration and its complex historical legacy give it an attractiveness and a uniqueness that have led to the recognition of the Historic Site as a Site of Cultural Interest.

At 10:00 am, reception of the group in the Plaza de la Fuente de la Villa.
From 10:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., breakfast, which the students must bring, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento and a guided visit to the historic center of the city, including the Church of Santa Marta, the Sanctuary of the Virgen de la Villa and the keep of the Castle of the Villa, today converted into an Interpretation Center.
From 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., visit to the San Amador agricultural cooperative oil mill (C / Príncipe Felipe, 20), with more than 50 years of history, where schoolchildren will be able to learn more about oil, its elaboration, types and flavors, through tastings, tastings and the projection of an audiovisual.
Schoolchildren will receive the pedagogical notebook "Cultural visit to Martos", made by the Martos City Council.
