Iglesia de Santa María Magdalena

Plaza Constitución,5, Cazalilla. 23628, Cazalilla How to get

In the center of Cazalilla is its most significant building, the parish church of Santa María Magdalena, which stands out both for its volume and height as well as for the quality of its construction materials and its artistic beauty. Particularly striking is the elegance of its tower, set on a stone base, with a square plan, with stylized bell hollows with a semicircular arch, which is closed with a pyramidal spire, and whose construction had to be undertaken at the end of the 17th century.

It is composed of an elongated body in which an ear molding opening opens and, aligned with it, but in height, an episcopal shield. A cornice separates it from the bell tower. In it, openings are opened with a semicircular arch that rest on imposts, which are extended as a listel around the entire perimeter. A clock with a dial has been placed on the sill of a hole. A narrow body receives the cover. Also interesting are the painted facade at the foot of the church and its façade.
