Jaén has always been a crossroads point, a forced passage between Andalusia and the rest of Spain. Its strategic location has favored the development of important infrastructures that make the province of Jaén one of the best ​connected territories in the country.

Jaén is one of the eight provinces of Andalusia. Located ​i​n the north of the community, its limits constitute the border with the Castilian Plateau and the South Bética range. Its center opens​ into​ the valley of the river Guadalquivir, the most important river basin in the region. Jaén ​extends to the north with the Castilian-Manchega provinces of Ciudad Real and Albacete. To the south and east with Granada, and to the west with Córdoba.

It is just 2 hours and 30 minutes away by road from Madrid; 2 hours from Seville; 1 hour and 30 minutes from the coast or 50 minutes from the Federico García Lorca​​ Granada - Jaén airport.
