Popular fiestas and cultural events embody the cultural wealth of this province. The villages and cities of Jaén pay homage to locals and visitors throughout the year by means of such original celebrations as the ‘Fiesta de Moros y Cristianos’, which takes place in various villages of the Sierra Mágina, or Fiestas such as the “Toro Ensogao” in Beas de Segura. In Andújar the traditional pilgrimage ‘Romería de la Virgen de la Cabeza’, the oldest in all Spain, gathers thousands of pilgrims at the Cerro del Cabezo. Easter processionsacquire a special relevance in cities like Jaén, Úbeda or Baeza, World Heritage Sites, and which gather, every year, thousands of locals and foreigners.

Furthermore, Jaén has been chosen as the setting for special events. You cannot miss ‘Etnosur’, the most important free and open ethnic Festival in Spain, Cazorla Blues Festival, el Festival de Blues de Cazorla, the International Air Festival, through the skies of Sierra de Segura, the animation program of the Castles and Battlegrounds Route or the Linares International Chess Tournament, unanimously considered one of the most important in the world.
